Phenotypic Assessments
Scan Procedures and Parameters
Ethics approval: Approved by University Committee on Animal Research Protection of East China Normal University.
Animal care and housing: Housed singly or in pairs, with automatically regulated lighting; monkey chow and fruit given twice a day (350g in total) and water available ad libitum.
Any applicable training: Monkeys were trained to watch videos and respond on touch screen apparatus.
Scanning preparations
Anesthesia procedures:
- Atropine was applied via subcutaneous injection 20min before anesthesia (dosage = body weight * 0.05mg/kg).
- ZoletilTM 50# was used via subcutaneous injection (dosage = body weight * 0.1ml/kg)
- After the monkeys were head-fixed on the Stereotaxic, 0.3ml ZoletilTM 50# was injected.
Time between anesthesia and scanning: 30 min
Head fixation: Kopf frame and ear bars
Position in scanner and procedure used: Sphinx positon in MRI stereotaxic apparatus
Contrast agent: None
During scanning
Physiological monitoring: Electrocardiography (ECG), respiration monitoring
Additional procedures: Mechanical ventilation. Body temperature kept warm with blanket. Food control 12 hours prior to anesthesia.
